A meridian runs from pole to pole. Stand on one at noon and the sun is as high as it will go that day.
A blank meridian is the line that hasn't been drawn yet: an empty map, a horizon with nothing on it, and every direction still open. That's where each of our games starts.
meridian /məˈrɪd.i.ən/ · noun
- A line of longitude running from the North Pole to the South Pole.
- The point at which the sun reaches its highest altitude in the sky.
